Lucknow: The University of Lucknow proudly marked its debut in the QS Sustainability Rankings 2025, securing the 59th position among 78 Indian institutions and ranking 545th out of 661 in Asia, within the 1501+ global rank band. The QS Sustainability Rankings assess universities on their environmental and social impact, focusing on sustainable research, teaching, operations, and partnerships.
The university’s recognition highlights its efforts in green campus initiatives, such as eco-friendly infrastructure and waste management; groundbreaking research in environmental conservation and renewable energy; active community engagement in sustainability awareness; and a strong commitment to integrating sustainability into the curriculum.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai expressed pride in the achievement, noting that the recognition underscores the university’s dedication to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to address global challenges through education, research, and community engagement. This accomplishment reflects the university’s vision and commitment to building a sustainable future aligned with the global sustainable development goals.
